All Italian basketball will greet Gigi Datome tomorrow.

The winger from Olbia, captain of the national team, announced his retirement a few weeks ago after winning the Scudetto with Milan, but the prestigious career will end with the blue shirt which he has honored 192 times (1,681 points scored) and will see him protagonist at the World Cup in the Philippines.

Dathome Day starts tomorrow evening at 9 pm at the Pala De Andrè in Ravenna where the friendly against Puerto Rico will take place.

The match serves as an approach to the World Cup in the Philippines which will start on August 25 with the match against Angola.

So far, the national team led by former Dinamo Pozzecco has 4/4 in friendlies: they have defeated Turkey, China, Serbia and Greece. In the blue team two other Sardinians: on the field the point guard Marco Spissu and on the bench, in the technical staff Riccardo Fois, who like Datome gained experience in the NBA.
