The epigraphic and archaeological research of the excavation campaign of Tignica, in Tunisia, will be at the center of the conference entitled " Thignica project open conference 2023 ", which will be presented, on Wednesday 20 September at 5pm, by the director of the national archaeological museum "Antiquarium Turritano" of Porto Torres, Stefano Giuliani.

During the evening, the studies and works carried out on the Roman site of Thignica (Tunisia) will be illustrated, as will the future research planned in the excavation campaign which will start in October.

The project is part of the Italian-Tunisian archaeological mission directed by Samir Aounallah , professor of the Institut National du Patrimoine de Tunisie and by Paola Ruggeri, professor of the Department of History, Human Sciences and Education (DiSSUF) of the University of Sassari, co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and by the Banco di Sardegna Foundation.

The project director, Paola Ruggeri, and some of the archaeologists, epigraphers and students of DiSSUF who will be working in the field in Tunisia in the next few days will participate in the event. The initiative is part of the calendar of preparatory events for the European Researchers' Night - Sharper , scheduled for 29 September in numerous Italian cities.
