After the Government's challenge, relations between the PD and M5S in Sardinia are at an all-time low. The frost between the two major forces of the Campo largo has lasted at least since the rift that occurred on the occasion of the resolution on the commissioners. In that case, the PD, which had judged the measure "imperfect from a legal, technical and political point of view", boycotted the meeting of the Council.
The Democratic Party only asked, according to the reconstruction of a member of the majority, "to be patient before bringing the names of the twelve commissioners to the Council". The M5S, which has its most important representative in President Alessandra Todde, decided to go ahead anyway. Two days later, Rome decided to challenge the reform before the Constitutional Court. And today the Democratic Party and the M5S have never been so distant.
A political table with the participation of the secretaries would be needed to overcome the rift . But Alessandra Todde prefers to call summits with the group leaders on the measures that are about to enter the Chamber, such as the one scheduled for Tuesday on the text of implementation of Salvini's Housing Plan. A text that should get the first green light in the Urban Planning Commission the following day.
In the meantime, the commissioners (whose appointment is illegitimate according to the government) have signed the contracts and will take office on Monday. The Region is moving forward, therefore. Taking risks. The Constitutional Court will take a few months before deciding. It could rule in favor of the Region, but not necessarily. In this case, who would pay for the lost income of the general directors fired early? And who would pay for the salaries of commissioners who could not be appointed? It could be the councilors themselves who approved the appointment resolution. Not the three from the Democratic Party (Giuseppe Meloni, Emanuele Cani, Rosanna Laconi) who did not attend the meeting of the Council.
