Almost 9 out of 10 people from Cagliari (88% to be precise) are worried about the impact that artificial intelligence will have on the workplace.

The data emerges from research by Changes Unipol, developed by Ipsos. Among the possible disadvantages of using AI, in Cagliari they are concerned about the loss of jobs (38%), the threat to creativity (37%) and fewer job opportunities for people with low digital literacy (35%).

But there are also many who see potential advantages, 85 people from Cagliari out of 100: reduction of the workload (34%), reduction of human error (37%), simplification of work activities (27%).

Other potential advantages: digitalisation in the PA (57%), travel and mobility (50%) and cultural experiences (49%). On the other hand, 66% of Cagliarians say they are worried because AI could create disinformation.

In Cagliari, 8 out of 10 citizens declare that they have at least a basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, even if only 16% know it well or have had the opportunity to use it: a rate of basic knowledge that is still higher than the national average, which it stands at 7 out of 10 citizens.

Furthermore, the Sardinian capital stands out for being among the most confident cities in this new technology, with 63% of the population (versus the national average of 59%) attributing an at least sufficient level of trust to it. As regards the effects of AI, a large part of those interviewed (46%) declare that it could have both positive and negative aspects, while only 15% believe they are attracted and intrigued by it, compared to 19% who declare instead distrustful.
