Are fizzy drinks bad for you?

While on the one hand drinking a glass of a carbonated drink every now and then can be considered a forgivable mistake, on the other hand the prolonged consumption of these drinks is far from healthy. The main ingredient of these drinks is water saturated with carbon dioxide, a colorless and tasteless gas which produces the characteristic bubbles to which other ingredients are added such as flavourings, citric acid, tartaric acid and, lastly, sugar or sweeteners for a sense of pleasant sweetness. Very synthetically said: nothing useful for our body! Although to quantify the risks of consuming carbonated soft drinks it is necessary to distinguish between the intake of sugar-containing soft drinks from colas rich in stimulant caffeine, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks, etc. it is legitimate to believe on the basis of the large scientific documentation available that generally there are no healthy carbonated drinks. The research work carried out so far clearly demonstrates that they participate considerably in the development of the following main pathologies: diabetes, gastritis, colitis, gastroesophageal reflux, osteoporosis, dermatitis.
