Are candy bad for you?

Jelly from pork rind, derivatives of subcutaneous fat and beef cartilage: these are some of the ingredients of the tasty candies. The list is completed by disproportionate quantities of refined sugar, preservatives, colourings, acidifiers such as malic and citric acid and chemical aromas extracted using solvents. For those who are thinking that there are tasty gummy candies on the market today that are prepared with vegetable gelatin, this should not be a reason to consider them "healthier".

The ingredients list doesn't differ all that much. It is therefore right to underline it without fear of contradiction: candies are not exactly a panacea for the health of our children. "In medio stat virtus" argued a famous philosopher, so if consumption is sporadic, the problem does not arise. Like all hyper-sugar foods, even sweets rich in simple sugars, with each consumption, in fact increase the degree of inflammation in the body due to the increase in glycemic peaks with a consequent hormonal response from insulin. This response leads the consumer to request more food than necessary, resulting in overweight and obesity over time.
