Dear all, After so many incredible years, we've decided to close Aqua's chapter as a live band.

Thus begins the post in which the Danish band, which has sold 33 million records worldwide and rose to fame in the 1990s with the hit "Barbie Girl," announces their breakup: "Aqua has been a huge part of our lives, and together we've had the opportunity to experience more than we ever dared to dream. We've toured the world countless times, met so many wonderful people, sung alongside millions of you, and shared memories that we'll always cherish."

" When you're together for so long," they continue, "you also learn when to protect what you've created together. For us, this feels like the right time to say goodbye, while the memories are still alive and while the love for the music, the story, and each other remains intact. From the bottom of our hearts: thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey over the past 30 years. Thank you for the love, the energy, the support, and for all the moments we've shared together. From now on, only love and gratitude."

«Infinite love», conclude Lene Nystrøm, René Dif and Søren Rasted.

Formed in Denmark in the late 1980s under the name Joyspeed alongside Claus Norreen, who left the band in 2016, they changed their name to Aqua in 1996, which they used to break out under the name of Aqua a year later with the global hit "Barbie Girl," included on their debut album, "Aquarium." Other well-known songs include "My Oh My," "Doctor Jones," "Lollipop (Candyman)," "Cartoon Heroes," and "Around the World." After an initial split, they reunited in 2007, releasing the compilation "Greatest Hits" two years later. In 2011, they returned to the scene with the release of the single "How R U Doin?", followed by the group's third album of unreleased material, "Megalomania." In recent years, they have toured the world with their concerts.
