The suspension of Antonello Peru, the councilor recently convicted of attempted extortion , was notified by the presidency of the Council of Ministers to the Regional Council of Sardinia.

Pursuant to the Severino law, the exponent of UDC-Sardinia at the Center will have to remain out of the Sardinian Assembly for 18 months and will return to sit on the Council benches when the term of the Legislature is shortly after. He will be replaced by Marco Tedde (Forza Italia), the first of the non-elected in 2019 in the list of FI, Sassari district, former councilor in the past legislature and former mayor of Alghero.

The installation of Tedde will take place only after the meeting of the elections council charged with formally identifying the first of the non-elected in the constituency of Peru. The oath is instead foreseen in one of the next meetings of the Regional Council.
