“ I knew everyone would give their all. The Tricolori are the most important event of the season, everything is played for everything. I was expecting Simone's record, I thought he would do more than 5.30m but reaching 5.51m was something he didn't even imagine. He was very good, competing with athletes of this caliber is a great pride».

Let's analyze his race. Debut at 4.67 then 4.85, 5, 5.10 all on the first try. Finally three errors at 5.20. What could it improve?

« There is never a shortage of details to improve, each race offers food for thought. Surely the new shaft that I used offers a greater thrust, however it also involves an adaptation period to master it to the fullest. I would have liked to do a better warm-up, it took me a while to find the sensations I was looking for but it's normal, each race is different and in the next ones I'll try to overcome the 5.20m mark which I know I can do».

Upcoming indoor events?

« Most likely, I will be at the Tricolori Assoluti in Ancona in two weeks. That could be a precious opportunity to show off and get a call-up for the Under 20 triangular match on 11 March in Liévin with the national team where there will also be France and Spain».

When will it debut outdoors?

' Around mid-May, not before. We will focus on recovery and training after the indoor sessions, so as to be competitive in the summer where the most important competitions will take place».
