Sardinian sports mourn the passing of Andrea Clarkson. Former footballer and coach, he was 55 years old and had been ill for some time. Originally from Cagliari, in his career he led Castiadas, Ferrini (with which he had obtained the passage from the First Category to Promotion, winning the playoffs in 2011) and Progetto Sant'Elia in Eccellenza.

As a footballer, first as a midfielder and then as a central defender, Clarkson played for, among others, Gesuino Farris' Pirri, Settimese, La Palma, Nuova Monreale San Gavino and Muravera. His career on the pitch ended in the early 2000s, then he moved to the bench and in recent years he dedicated himself to triathlon as an athlete .

A well-known face in Sardinian sport but not only: Clarkson was a respected accountant and had a studio in Cagliari active since 2001. He was also the auditor of Aiac Sardegna, the coaches' association.
