Ninth edition for the regional competition dedicated to the memory of Andrea Blasina, esteemed teacher of the Azuni High School of Sassari who taught Greek and Latin. The test consisted of the translation and commentary of a Greek text and was reserved for the fourth and fifth classes of the classical high schools of the island. The passage was taken from the fifth book of “The Republic” by Plato on the theme “Women in the city”.

Riccardo Orgolesu, a student in VB at the Gramsci High School in Olbia, won the Certamen for the second time. He won the first prize of 500 euros. Alessandro Lai, from IV D at the Azuni High School, won the second prize of 300 euros, and Sofia Spanedda, from IV A at the Azuni High School, won the third prize of 200 euros.

The event was promoted in collaboration with the Sassari delegation of the Italian Association of Classical Culture and the University of Sassari, with the financial contribution of the Department of Public Education of the Sardinia Region and the support of the Blasina family who provided the prize money for the winning students.

The first day of the event concluded at the Teatro Civico in Sassari with the evening performance of the show “Il soldati innamorato (di sé)”, taken from Plautus' “Miles gloriosus”, a performance by students from the theatre laboratory of the classical course of the Azuni High School, with music by students from the music course and choreography by students from the institute's dance course prepared by the teachers in charge and coordinated by the director Sante Maurizi.
