Also in Group C, Scotland won 1-0 against Haiti, thanks to a goal from John McGinn in the 28th minute of the first half.
In Group B, Switzerland also drew 1-1 against Qatar, with the Swiss taking the lead through an Embolo penalty, but Khoukhi equalised in the final minutes.
In Group A, Australia beat Vincenzo Montella's Turkey 2-0, thanks to goals from Irankunda in the 27th minute of the first half and Metcalfe in the 30th minute of the second.
