An own goal from Deiola forces Cagliari to go into the locker room 1-0 down against Lazio.
Ranieri confirms the three-man defence, but leaving Dossena on the bench and focusing on Zappa and Obert alongside Mina. In front, Lapadula alone with the support of Viola and Gaetano. Cagliari gets behind and leaves the initiative to Lazio, who comes close to scoring first with a carom from a corner saved by Scuffet and then with a running right-footed shot from Immobile and with the rossoblù goalkeeper still ready to save himself in the corner. The rossoblù keep the pace low, but around Provedel they can only be seen with a weak left foot.
At 26', the breakthrough: Isaksen's cross is smoothed by Azzi and Deiola, behind him he can't avoid the own goal. The goal does not shake Cagliari, who continue to control, to the delight of Lazio who continue with their possession of the ball. At the last second, an attempt by Lapadula was thwarted by Provedel. The first half thus ends with the guests ahead 1-0.
