An important vehicle for aggregation and social promotion that the Sardinian Region continues to support, to allow the full resumption of activities and the involvement of young and old. Thus the President of the Region Christian Solinas announced the new support provision for the recovery, extraordinary maintenance and restructuring of existing sports facilities.

The Board has defined the general criteria and authorized the expenditure of 1 million and 200 thousand euros for amateur sports associations (ASD) and amateur sports clubs (SSD), in addition to the purchase of the related equipment, in favor of the registered companies and associations in the regional register of sports clubs. The plants to which the financial interventions refer are public.

With this rule, specifies the councilor for sport Andrea Biancareddu, it is intended to enhance and increase the assets of public bodies, combined with the promotion and development of sporting activity, with the related benefits on psychophysical health.

CONTRIBUTIONS - The maximum amount of the contribution is 250 thousand euros. Expenses relating to interventions for extraordinary maintenance and the recovery of areas intended for bars, refreshment points or the like are not considered eligible.

Minor sports disciplines must be understood as those that have a number of members, at the sports federations recognized by CONI and operating in Sardinia, at the date of 31/12/2020, less than 5,000 athletes (therefore those disciplines other than football, volleyball are less , basketball, athletics and tennis). A sporting event of international rank means one in which at least one team from the peninsula and at least one team from a foreign country participate.

The commissioner Biancareddu, in order to give transparency to the provision of the law, underlines how an expression of interest has been published in which over 200 sports associations and amateur sports clubs have participated.

From the number of requests received for the maintenance of public facilities, the need to program additional resources clearly emerges to achieve the goal of usability of public facilities.

The program is destined for a share of no less than 40 percent to interventions on facilities intended to accommodate international events of minor sports, to be held by 31 December 2022.
