Expectations are growing for the international appointment scheduled for Saturday 19 August in Alghero with Dardust and Daddy G (Massive Attack). The event consists of two moments: the first magical appointment at sunset (7.30 pm) is already sold out, at the Nuraghe Palmavera with the show Piano solo-Right Hemisphere by Dardust. The second session will be held at the Ivan Graziani Amphitheater in Maria Pia, with a show of great international scope that combines Dardust's Duality tour - at 10 pm - with the DJ set, from midnight, by Daddy G, historic half of Massive Attack, creator of the famous “Bristol sound”.
Dardust is Dario Faini , artist, pioneer producer of alternative classical music and Italian pianist among the most influential of the new generation in the world. Starting from spring 2023 he brings his Duality Tour to the main Italian theaters and European clubs and then continues throughout the summer.
Grant Marshall , aka Daddy G, is one of the founding fathers of the "Bristol sound", with sounds that mix dub, reggae, funk, disco and hip hop. We remember Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead, Smith & MIghty: a style that has left traces in the world for several decades, from which the dubstep scene was very inspired, for example.Daddy G was born with the Wild Bunch Sound System, from which Massive Attack was born.Together with Mushroom and 3-D, Daddy G is was one of the band's founders and lead vocalist.By 1980 he was one of the youngest DJs in Bristol, and in his shows you could hear the latest disco and funk, American punk, the first imported rap, alongside soul and dub reggae When the Wild Bunch sound system was founded, Daddy G was already a local celebrity.
His DJ sets have become legendary not only for his selections and technical skills in the mix, but also for his prowess with the microphone. During Massive's hiatus, Daddy G keeps people dancing in the best clubs around the world, with an always up-to-date record box. In 2004 he released his compilation for the Dj Kicks series, where the sounds that dominate are reggae and dub, but also vintage soul and funk, deep house, up to dubstep and obviously with a lot of flour from the bag Massive Attack among classics and previously unreleased remixes. The event is organized by the Alghero Foundation in collaboration with Shining Production. Admission to both events is free, with reservations required.
