A return ticket to spend the summer holidays in Sardinia can cost more than 800 euros . Flight fares break all records with increases ranging from 30 to 50%, despite the fact that the price of jet fuel has plummeted in recent weeks. According to data from Iata, the international association that brings together companies, it has dropped by an average of 35%. But the cost reduction has so far not translated into any discounts for passengers.

Among the alarms raised in recent weeks is that of the Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini . «The high prices that affect Sardinia and Sicily above all is something inadmissible. We are also discussing with the control bodies that depend on my ministry. Of course I can't intervene straight leg on the free market, but we can absolutely do a form of moral suasion to avoid crazy tariffs ». And Codacons, like every year, has instead turned to the Antitrust.

To give other examples: on the Milan-Cagliari route, a tourist in the central week of August pays (three months in advance of departure) 659 euros. While on the other two connections regulated by the agreement with the Region (the rules of territorial continuity apply), i.e. the Rome-Cagliari and the Milan-Alghero, the prices well exceed 400 euros.
