A new halt arrives for the merger and privatization project of Sardinian airports. The Region denied the green light to the 2022 budget of Sogaer (which manages the Cagliari airport) and sent a strong signal: Gabriella Massidda, current general secretary of the regional administration.

But that's not the only novelty: the president Monica Pilloni and the directors Giorgio Demurtas and Giorgio Delpiano were confirmed on the board of directors: Marino Piga also joined the board of Sogaer, who will replace Renato Branch. Piga led Sogaer Security and worked for over 40 years in the Saras group: he will have a one-year mandate (like the rest of the board), in which he will probably try to carry on the disputed privatization project.

"Cagliari airport - reads the press release released yesterday - is preparing for new and important investments aimed at improving the efficiency and usability of the airport, resulting from the desired increase in passenger traffic, which will result for the shareholders regulatory requirement for a significant recapitalisation. Commitments which will be added to the challenging charges linked to the implementation of the new airport development plan currently being defined".

In Alghero, meanwhile, Sogeaal - controlled by F2i - has formalized its move which could lead to the exclusion of the Region from the management of the airport. Yesterday the "determination of the liquidation value of the company's shares in the event of the right of withdrawal by the shareholders who will not contribute to the approval of the resolution for the merger of the company into Geasar" was discussed. Therefore: anyone who does not agree with the marriage between the airports of Alghero and Olbia will be eliminated from the management of the companies.
