«We have never thought, not even for a moment, of handing over the access keys to our Region , which are the three Sardinian airports, to a private investment fund which legitimately pursues its interests which, however, are not those of Sardinia. The interests of the Region are to maximize passenger traffic to favor and improve the island's economy». This was stated by Transport councilor Antonio Moro before speaking in the Chamber for important communications on the merger of airports. The commissioner's intervention is in progress.

Moro also specified that "the Region has not made any turnaround but a linear and simple path on a particularly complex issue such as that of airport management", and that "the Region is adopting a behavior to protect the efforts made to promote an airport system modern and effective and to protect the principle on which it does not intend to withdraw, that of guaranteeing the right of Sardinians to mobility and ensuring the role of Sardinia as regards the tasks of addressing and controlling airport management".

The commissioner then underlined that «the Region is in favor of the creation of an airport network of the three airports of Sardinia which, as the president of ENAC well said, does not mean a single management company in the hands of a single owner, but it means favoring the airport network beyond the single management of the single airports».
