"In 2013 - observes Cappellacci, who at the time was president of the Region - we launched an air continuity that guaranteed discounts for residents and 9 months a year also for our emigrants and for anyone who wanted to reach our island because the goal is that of connecting territories and guaranteeing the free movement of people and goods, both in and out, at affordable costs. We don't want an Indian reservation. Why was a measure aimed at the economic and social development of the Region recalled by Community Regulation 1008 of 2008 canceled? From 2013 to today we have certainly not become a peninsula and it is sufficient to look at a geographical map to understand that there are no alternatives to the plane to connect the territories. Why are we pretending that Article 16 of that Regulation which provides for all this does not exist? The EU resistance on minor routes, unexpectedly canceled during the Giunta Pigliaru, or the connections of the Sardinian airports with Bologna, Verona, Turin and Naples, are also unacceptable. Cards and data in hand - he highlights - we are ready to go to Brussels to express our point of view and ask not for privileges but for respect for our rights. We ask the government for incisive action to assert the reasons of a people and an island that do not ask for state aid but only to be freed from what are obviously state disadvantages ".
