"We strongly reiterate that the Government must guarantee Air Italy workers, even, if necessary, with a specific rule, the same protections guaranteed to Alitalia employees".

This is the position taken by the governor of Sardinia Christian Solinas, regarding the developments of the dispute involving 1,400 company workers , who risk receiving the letter of dismissal on 8 December.

"The Region - continues Solinas - asks that the dismissal procedure be stopped and, at the same time, the extension of the redundancy fund for at least a year, pending the identification of an industrial solution that can safeguard jobs and the wealth of professionalism and skills acquired ".

"The Sardinian Region - adds the governor - was not called to the meeting held this morning for a discussion with the company in liquidation. The Board, confirming its willingness to undertake any initiative within its competence to prevent the dismissals of workers, as stated by the own representatives during the meeting held last week in the Regional Council ".
