After 17 years of activity and 12 years after bankruptcy , the historic railway carriage factory, located in the industrial area of Villacidro, will restart and will be entrusted to the Tuscan company Bertolotti Spa .

Regional President Alessandra Todde emphasized: "This is an important restart for the Medio Campidano area. 17 years ago, we witnessed the closure of this plant, and it seemed like the end was sealed . We focused on compatibility and sustainability for the reopening, and we focused on energy and logistics aspects, such as proximity to ports."

The recovery plan was presented this afternoon in the conference room of the Villacidro Industrial Consortium, attended by the organization's president, Enrico Caboni, the president herself, the regional councilor for industry, Emanuele Cani, and the CEO of Bertolotti spa, Luca Barneschi.

Councilor Cani echoes the president's sentiments: "With this reopening, we demonstrate that it's possible to invest and sustain an industrial activity in Sardinia . I must thank the president, with whom we've built a strong synergy. We wanted to focus on a specific area of activity to relaunch this production with serious entrepreneurs.

For the president of the industrial consortium, Enrico Carboni, this is an extraordinary achievement: "There was a risk of the company being abandoned for good. Now, a future of employment can be guaranteed , and in 2025, the industrial consortium reacquired ownership of the former Keller. We needed to find a party with the resources to invest. We chose the Tuscan company Bertolotti Spa, which operates in the international market of rail vehicle development."
