Achille Lauro returns to Sanremo, this time as co-host of the second evening on Wednesday, February 25th, which will see him on stage alongside Carlo Conti and Laura Pausini. The artistic director announced the news during his traditional 8:00 PM broadcast of Tg1: "He will be with me and Laura Pausini all evening, from the height of his artistry, with great lightness and intelligence. He said yes, taking time away from the big tour he's preparing, and I thank him for that."
"Returning to Sanremo is always a great thrill, and with Carlo, after last year's splendid festival with Incoscienti giovani, I couldn't have asked for anything better," Lauro commented.
The singer-songwriter and performer's name had been circulating in recent weeks as a possible special guest at the festival, also to pay tribute to the Crans-Montana victims. This speculation arose on social media, sparked by the emotional outpouring of emotion surrounding the funeral of Achille Barosi, who died in the fire at 16. The funeral was marked by the poignant images of his mother, Erica, singing "Perdutamente," one of Lauro's most powerful songs, beside her son's coffin. "I'm with you all with all my love," the artist wrote in solidarity with the families of the young victims.
The idea of Lauro's presence at the Ariston was also relaunched by his duet with Pausini on the notes of "16 Marzo", included in the pop star's new album "Io Canto 2".
As a trap icon and unscrupulous star, Achille Lauro returns to Sanremo after four appearances in the competition, in 2019 with "Rolls Royce", in 2020 with "Me ne frego", in 2022 with "Domenica" and in 2025 with "Incoscienti giovani", and those in 2021 as a super regular guest, with the famous musical "quadri", and in 2023 as a special guest.
Performances have also been the center of controversy, such as when in 2022, while singing "Domenica" with the Harlem Gospel Choir, he knelt down and self-baptized by pouring water over his head from a holy water font. The artist is no stranger to provocation: three years earlier, his song "Rolls Royce" sparked controversy over alleged drug references.
With 40 platinum records, 12 gold records, and seven studio albums under his belt, after the festival, Achille Lauro is ready for a record-breaking 2026, with a sold-out event for “Comuni Immortali” at the San Siro Stadium on June 15th, which adds to the three already sold-out dates at the Unipol Forum on March 16th, 17th, and 23rd.
The triumph in the stadiums - in addition to the San Siro, the Olimpico in Rome on June 10 has been sold out for months and a new date at the Romeo Neri in Rimini on June 7 was recently announced - adds to that of the upcoming arena tour in March, which also sold out.
