There were 15 victims of accidents at work in Sardinia in 2021.

The figure is reported by the Study Center of the basic unitary Confederation, according to which 1404 people died in the year just ended due to accidents at work. Of these, 695 occurred in the workplace, with an 18% increase of this type compared to 2020.

Piero Antonini of the CUB Study Center denounced how "in the last ten years there has been no improvement, despite the billions spent on security by the state through its institutes".

Even today, large sections of workers are not insured with Inail or work illegally. The data disclosed therefore "are certainly significantly underestimated".

In particular, the categories most at risk operate in the sectors of agriculture, construction, road transport and industry.

The primary sector records 30.22% of all deaths in the workplace: of these as many as 75% were crushed by a tractor and the age varies from 14 to 88 years.

15% of dead workers worked in construction, with the majority of accidents being caused by falls from heights; many victims worked illegally, mainly in the southern regions. In road transport, the dead are 10.75% of the total.

Finally, industry accounts for 5.89% of all those who have lost their lives in the workplace: they are almost all employees of small and very small companies in which there is no union or safety officer.

The black jersey among the Regions for the number of victims is Lombardy, which has cried 78 workers.
