Accidents follow one another, all over the island and especially on the outskirts of Nuoro, in that endless construction site on the 131 Dcn towards Olbia. This is why the Minister of Infrastructure Matteo Salvini also accepted the invitation of the prefect Giancarlo Dionisi. With a video message the minister took part in the "General States of road safety in Sardinia" in the afternoon. Then, he reassured: «In recent weeks the ministry has provided 20 million euros for road maintenance to over 150 municipalities under 5 thousand inhabitants. Furthermore, in the Anas 2023 program contract, a budget of more than 5 billion euros has been allocated to Sardinia for interventions on the roads, including scheduled maintenance and new works".
Poor road conditions – From north to south of the island the script is common. The Sardinian roads show all their critical issues every moment: construction sites started some time ago and never finished; bad roads, prone to inconveniences and accidents; mayors on a war footing. Anas also participated in the meeting in Nuoro. The road authority has been in the sights of local administrators for some time: road accidents along the 131 Dcn, especially in the large construction site just outside the Barbagia capital, are commonplace.
«These are highly complex interventions: at the entrance to the city there are 12 viaducts involved in the works», says Salvatore Campione, Anas manager for Northern Sardinia. «Of these viaducts, 8 are almost completed, so we will reopen them before the summer exodus. That is, we will reopen them as a "dual carriageway", returning the original section. We also managed to recontract the so-called "viaduct A", at the Prato Sardo tunnel. Continuing towards Olbia, we are also carrying out work on the tunnels." Nuoro but not only. According to 131 Dcn, the other long-standing sore point is the construction site near Sedilo. Campione points out: «We are carrying out adaptation work on the tunnel. These are important works, costing over 36 million euros and which will continue."
