To investigate the cases of abuse, mistreatment and verbal violence reported by former athletes of the National Rhythmic and not only , the hearings of the federal prosecutor of Federgymnastics began today in Rome.
The prosecutor Michele Rossetti listened to the testimonies of Nina Corradini and Anna Basta, the first to tell in detail (in the media) the insults received during the years of the Academy of Desio, a structure commissioned last Thursday with the inclusion of an official who will have the task of supervising the relationship between athletes and technicians, reporting any anomalies and reporting their activities to the federal president. Nina Corradini was the first to show up at the Hotel degli Aranci, in the Parioli area, and spoke to the prosecutor for about an hour and a half.
"I am very serene because I have faith in sports justice and I hope that what happened to me and what I had to suffer does not happen to other girls - her words intercepted by reporters after the match - I only told my experience, everything what I went through. At a certain point the person can no longer resist and everything becomes heavy. The medals have cost me a lot ".
Some representatives of the senior aerobic gymnastics national team also entered the subject yesterday, such as Francesco Sebastio, who spoke of closeness and respect towards "all the athletes who have suffered", however "keeping" to specify in a special way which are not the image of the current environment we live in every day ". Luca Fancello, formerly of the senior national team of Aerobic Gymnastics from 2007 to 2014, argues that "the accusations brought to the federation as well as to the staff who have alternated over the years are extremely inflated compared to the real facts" . The president of Coni, Giovanni Malagò, also returned to talk about the gymnast case, after the meeting with Minister Abodi (and the president of FGI Tecchi) on November 2: "We moved very quickly, there was also the constitution of a safeguard office with two very qualified and important grafts.
