19 tenders have been awarded for the redevelopment of water networks in various municipalities in Sardinia. The president of the board of directors of Abbanoa, Franco Piga, signed the contracts with the winning companies. The interventions concern Assemini, Bosa, Cagliari, Carbonia, Galtellì, Iglesias, Irgoli, Macomer, Nuoro, Olbia, Oristano, Ozieri, Porto Torres, Quartucciu, Santa Teresa Gallura, San Teodoro, Selargius, Sestu, Tempio Pausania.

The total value of the contracts amounts to 25 million euros , resources obtained by Abbanoa through the European Fund for Development and Cohesion "FSC". For this package there was an obligation to sign contracts by 30 June.

Now we move on to the construction phase. The next objective is the awarding of the 42 million euro tender from the PNRR funds and the signing of contracts for a further 10 contracts for a total value of 13 million euro, again from "FSC" funds. Overall, on the efficiency of the networks, the company is carrying out a maxi-plan of 107 million euros to resolve the critical issues of the island's water system and ensure Sardinia has important benefits both in terms of employment and the redevelopment of the service.

Program that is part of a broader strategy, which involves 235 Municipalities, aimed at countering the critical issues present in most of the water networks in the region.
