It should have been the match that would have eliminated Torres from the play-offs, but instead it failed. In Forlì, the match ended 2-0 to the home team, who demonstrated a vitality and aggression far superior to the Rossoblu, who were consistently lackluster.

Greco's team had also started well, having risked a shot from Farinelli in the 6th minute (Zaccagno saved it with a dive), but they produced a counterattack in the 9th minute with Di Stefano passing to Sorrentino in the area, but the Romagnoli goalkeeper promptly blocked it with his body.

The match took a turn in the 24th minute when Mastinu's close-range back pass to Zaccagno was poorly blocked by the goalkeeper, who let Franzolini steal the ball and score. Torres failed to react, and in the 44th minute, Franzolini scored his second with a header.

In the second half, coach Greco attempted to make changes to the wingers: Lunghi and Dumani came on, but the absence of the suspended Sala and the injured Zecca and Zambataro was felt greatly. So much so that, aside from Sorrentino's header that went off target in the 61st minute, the Rossoblu produced very little.
