There will also be a crew from Cagliari, at the starting line of the Rolex Middle Sea Race, one of the toughest regattas on the Mediterranean calendar.

The challenge . The Alfa Sailing Team has accepted the challenge and will participate in the next edition, from 18 to 30 October, with its load of energy and multiple experiences, gained on national and international regatta fields. In addition to the skipper and bowman, Andrea Locci, the minists Pietro Mureddu and Francesco Farci will be on board, the latter winner of the regattas of the Mini 222 national circuit and the Italian Grand Prix, and Michele Cocco, who had won the 2017 Giraglia with the M37 Adelasia di Torres of the late owner Renato Azara. Nicola Orlandini and Nicolò Gamenara complete the squad

The reasons. "The decision to make his debut as a team in the Middle Sea Race stems from the desire to deal immediately with the great international sailing events", explains Locci, "this regatta in particular is by its nature the most demanding offshore event in the whole Mediterranean, both as regards the race course, which provides for the circumnavigation of Sicily in an anti-clockwise direction passing outside the islands of Stromboli, Favigliana, Pantelleria and Lampedusa, and for the period in which it is held, in which the weather conditions are on average very demanding " .

The boat. The Alfa Sailing Team will sail with the G34 Alfa. "A light and performing boat", adds Locci, "equipped with a rotating carbon mast with an airfoil that expresses its best in carrying speeds"
