The process for the construction of a 79 MW photovoltaic plant in the industrial area of Macchiareddu, in the territory of Uta, has begun, after the concession of the Region in favor of Sardeolica, the company active in the renewable energy sector and entirely controlled by Saras .

The energy, it is specified, will not be used for self-production but will be fed into the grid.

The plant is called Helieanto and “constitutes a significant progress in the Saras Group's strategies in the renewable energy sector, adding to the existing wind farms in Sardinia with a power of 171 MW, and bringing the total power to 250 MW - says Saras -. The Helianto park has optimal characteristics in terms of insolation and configuration and will be integrated into Sardeolica's industrial management methods, in particular by exploiting the synergies with the adjacent Macchiareddu wind farms, acquired in June 2021 ".

For Dario Scaffardi, CEO of Saras, "the forthcoming construction of a new photovoltaic park is a further step towards our goal of 500 MW of renewable energy by 2025 and testifies to our commitment to face the challenge of the energy transition with development sustainable development of our group. We continue with responsibility to be innovative, sustainable and a point of reference among energy suppliers ".

Saras is also involved in projects dedicated to green hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and biorefining.
