"The legacy left" by the Solinas Council "has undoubtedly been very heavy, but we must act quickly on healthcare, the patience of the Sardinians should not be underestimated, because they have already lost it in these last five years". Massimo Zedda says this on the sidelines of the interview with Radiolina. The mayor of Cagliari, guest of the program "A tu per tu", spoke about projects for the city, renewables and political structures. Regional and national.

On medical or hospital care, one of the island's emergencies, Zedda said: «We need to solve the problems of services. The less immediate care is guaranteed to citizens, the more the costs for the system increase in the medium term». The mayor then made an underlining: «On healthcare, too often we discuss the container», was the reference, «instead the central theme is the content», or «the services to be guaranteed to citizens». Zedda then thanks the Region, «thanks to which the work on the Casa della salute in Sant'Elia is moving forward».

In October 2023, on Radiolina's microphones, Zedda confirmed his availability to run for mayor. Exactly one year later, he finds himself at Palazzo Bacaredda at the end of his first hundred days in government, "something against time in the difficult and complex attempt to save resources. In past years, pharaonic projects have been presented in some cases, far-fetched in others, and since they are unfeasible, technically or within the rigid timeframe given by the Pnrr and the POR funds, the risk of defunding is being determined. We are trying to save resources or remodel projects". The mayor, when asked specifically about the Cagliari he found at the beginning of July when he took office, specified: " The city that I inherited from Delogu and Floris in 2011 was not in these conditions".

Zedda then spoke about traffic, fines for nightclubs and tow truck costs on weekends, the most debated topics in recent weeks. On road traffic, the mayor explained that he had given the offices a mandate "to study a new traffic plan", which will be implemented when some of the open construction sites are completed. On the heavy-handedness of the Municipality against nightlife, Zedda said: "These measures predate my inauguration". Finally, the bloodbath faced by motorists who defy the rules of the Highway Code, so that if cars are taken away by tow trucks from 8 pm on Saturday, they have to pay over 100 euros to get them back before Monday. The mayor said: "I learned this morning that the cost is included in an additional provision expiring next year and we certainly won't renew it. But I would suggest that citizens not put cars in no-parking zones and obstruct traffic".

On the future of Campo Largo, which is not going through its best moment at a national level - Conte and Schlein have never been so distant - the mayor of Cagliari said: «The greatest commitment of the parties remains that of uniting the forces of the center-left. We have been trying since 2007, it is no small thing, and having something bigger is the goal for which we Progressives were born too». And on the question of his move to the PD, as is repeated every so often, Zedda underlined: «It is not the move of individuals that counts, but the construction of an alternative to this center-right of Meloni that has so far disregarded every electoral commitment made, it is a path that is done together».

The mayor, at the end of the interview, confirmed that he still hears from Renzi: «We met in the summer when he came to Cagliari». And on the possibility that the former prime minister, as he requested, enters Campo Largo, Zedda concluded: «I would bring, in an agreement at a national level, all the forces that want to contribute to improving the quality of life of people».
