Zedda proclaimed mayor of Cagliari: «The council immediately, we can't get to July»
The result of the elections has been made official: first citizen elected with 43,264 votes. An extra seat could arrive in the Council for the Democratic Party, Avs would lose itAt 4.10 pm the central office of the Municipality of Cagliari, president Giorgio Murru, officially proclaimed Massimo Zedda mayor with 43,264 valid votes.
The mayor will take office at Palazzo Bacaredda tomorrow: a return after his resignation in 2019. And his political agenda will begin immediately.
«Tomorrow», he announces from the Municipality of Pirri where his role was made official, «I will begin individual meetings with the parties. We will appoint the Board as soon as possible, because there are many priorities, and it will be a high-profile team. Delaying would mean arriving in late July."
The new mayor does not reveal anything about the schemes that will be followed for the choice of councillors. Zedda simply points out that "the results will be taken into account".
Precisely on this front, the game is not over. «It will take a few more days for the proclamation of those elected to the Council». And there is one seat that is in flux: the Democratic Party could rise to seven seats, dropping Avs to two.
