Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Washington has proposed a meeting between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia in Miami to seek a ceasefire agreement in the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv.

“As I understand it, they proposed this format: Ukraine, America, Russia,” Zelensky said, adding that Europeans could be present and that it would be “logical to hold a joint meeting… after understanding the potential outcomes of the meeting that has already taken place.”

Zelensky also addressed the option of new elections that has been circulating in recent hours: "The elections cannot be held in territories not controlled by Ukraine , temporarily occupied, because it is clear how they will be conducted: as always, Russia does this: first it talks about the results of its own internal elections – and then it counts the votes." Furthermore, the Kiev leader explained, "it is not up to Putin to decide when and in what format the elections will be held in Ukraine , because these are exclusively Ukrainian elections, elections of the Ukrainian people, of Ukrainian citizens."
