"This afternoon I will welcome Volodymyr Zelensky in Brussels. Together we will participate in the Coalition of the Willing," von der Leyen continued, confirming her participation in the meeting where—as in Washington tomorrow—Meloni will also be present. The meeting is scheduled for 3:00 PM via video conference today, on the eve of the Ukrainian president's trip to the White House to discuss with Donald Trump the results of the August meeting in Alaska with Vladimir Putin . Zelensky arrived in Brussels shortly before 2:00 PM.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb will also be attending the White House meeting, according to the German government and Downing Street, the Finnish presidency. The Élysée Palace announced that French President Emmanuel Macron will stand alongside Zelensky "to continue the coordination between Europeans and the United States with the aim of achieving a just and lasting peace that preserves Ukraine's vital interests and Europe's security."
