Chiara Seazzu, general director of the Aou of Cagliari , was received in audience by Pope Francis this morning. In the meeting, which was attended by the general managers of Asl, hospitals and Ircs of Italy that adhere to Federsanità, the pontiff thanked the health professionals for what they do every day : "With your commitment - said the Saint Father - contribute to maintaining the relationship between center and periphery, between small and large, by weaving relationships and promoting paths of social, health and social welfare integration ", inviting everyone to" break the chains of selfishness "and praising public health.
"When a country loses this wealth that is public health - were Bergoglio's words -, it begins to make distinctions between the population, those who have access, who can have healthcare, for a fee, and those who are without a health service" . Appeal shared by Tiziana Frittelli, president of Federsanità: "Only in this way will we be able to guarantee access to assistance services for all, ensuring the social cohesion of the country and helping to make the issue of health central to national planning".
