Two American fighter jets have been shot down over Iran in the last few hours . One of the pilots is still missing, while two others have been rescued. A helicopter was reportedly hit during the maneuvers and subsequently disappeared from radar.
According to the Wall Street Journal , the pilot of the second jet managed to exit Iranian airspace before ejecting . The Islamic Republic claimed responsibility for the downing: "An invading American-Zionist enemy A10 aircraft was intercepted and hit by the country's air defense network in waters south of and near the Strait of Hormuz."
