Donald Trump announced that Ukraine and Russia have agreed not to strike each other's energy infrastructure. "Ukraine has agreed not to strike Russian energy targets. Russia has agreed to do the same!" the tycoon wrote in a post on Truth, believing that "the global diesel price increase" was "primarily caused by the war between Russia and Ukraine, not Iran."

For its part, Kiev is ready for a truce but is asking for guarantees because, Volodymr Zelensky explained on Telegram, "it is not sure that Russia is willing to respect any agreement."

"If partners are willing to guarantee that Russia will stop targeting our electricity grid, our other energy infrastructure, critical infrastructure, and food supplies, we, of course, are ready to guarantee a corresponding cessation of our attacks," Zelensky continued, adding that, as expected, "we expect partners to provide concrete details."

"Naturally, we can only welcome any request to the Kiev regime to stop attacks on peaceful economic infrastructure," commented Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov.

But sources close to the Kremlin, the Financial Times writes, say the tsar is reluctant to reach an agreement before winter, believing that attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure could increase pressure on Kiev to make concessions.
