Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump.
The leader of the Jewish state was received at the White House to discuss the new plan for the ceasefire in Gaza.
“I am very confident that we can reach an agreement,” Trump said as he welcomed Netanyahu.
The White House then revealed Donald Trump's 20-point plan for Gaza . The first two points state that the Strip "will be a deradicalized and terrorism-free zone that will not pose a threat to its neighbors" and that "it will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza , who have suffered more than enough."
Furthermore, the plan calls for the release of hostages by Hamas "within 72 hours" and the release by Israel of 250 Palestinians sentenced to life imprisonment.
If Hamas rejects the peace plan, however, Trump warned, Israel "will have the right and the full support of the United States to complete the work of annihilating the threat."
