The meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House concluded after about an hour. This long-awaited face-to-face meeting came at a delicate stage in the conflict in Ukraine and relations between Washington and Kiev. The two leaders discussed military cooperation, air defense, and the prospects for a diplomatic solution to the war with Russia. Among the topics discussed were the production and supply of Patriot interceptors.
Zelensky, whose departure from Washington is scheduled for this evening, will attend the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham, a longtime supporter of Ukraine, who died on July 11 shortly after returning from Kiev, and will meet a group of senators on Capitol Hill on the day the examination of the package of US sanctions against Russia, the first to be supported by Trump, begins.

"Good meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office," Zelensky wrote on X shortly after the meeting. "Thank you for everything we do together to protect the lives of Ukrainians and promote peace. First of all, I offered President Trump our condolences on the passing of Lindsey Graham. He was a true friend of Ukraine. The President and I discussed licensing for the production of Patriot interceptors and several other ideas that could help. We also discussed diplomacy; it is important to revitalize the diplomatic process. Our teams will organize the details of their further communication. I am grateful to the United States for its unwavering support."

Four minutes after Zelensky's car left the White House, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's motorcade arrived for the second anticipated summit. Also attending were envoy Steve Witkoff, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. "Both meetings were positive and productive!" White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt wrote in Truth.
