A head-on collision with a truck in Kenya claimed the life of an Italian tourist, Sidney Serpetri, a 52-year-old Florentine.

According to initial reports, the woman was traveling with her husband and son from Mombasa to Malindi. The collision with the oncoming vehicle was fatal.

The Kenyan driver also died along with the woman, while her husband and son, hospitalized in Mombasa, are not in serious condition.

The Italian Embassy in Nairobi immediately took action to provide assistance and is following the situation, in contact with the family and the hospital where the two compatriots are being treated.
