Tomorrow marks the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine , and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky , delegitimized by Donald Trump, is calling for unity of purpose between the US and Europe for a "lasting peace".
"The war is raging. All those who are able to help should work to strengthen the protection of people's lives. We must do our best to bring lasting and just peace to Ukraine. And this is possible if there is unity among all partners: we need the power of all Europe, the power of America, and the power of all those who want reliable peace. Thank you to all our partners who help us and understand this! ", the Ukrainian leader said.
He then reeled off some figures: "In total, this week Russia has launched around 1,150 attack drones, more than 1,400 guided aerial bombs and 35 missiles of various types."
For his part, Vladimir Putin , on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day, thanked the Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine, who "defend the national interests and the future of Russia". His determination to strengthen the army "has not changed", given the global context subject to "rapid changes". " We will continue to improve the combat capabilities of the army and navy , their readiness for combat as an essential component of Russia's security and a guarantee of its present and future sovereignty", Putin declared.
The Russian president then took on a sort of divine mission: " God has given me the mission of defending Russia. Fate wanted it this way, and so did God. Defending Russia, a difficult and honorable mission, has been placed on my shoulders and yours, together."
