While renovating a newly bought house, behind a wall they found an old McDonald's bag with a bag of fries dated 1959 inside.
It is incredible what happened in Illinois. Rob and Gracie Jones were working at their Crystal Lake home, about 50 miles from Chicago and dating back to the 1950s, when they made the discovery.
"Rob was in the bathroom replacing the old toilet paper device," Gracie told CNN. “When he pulled it out, he noticed a rolled-up piece of cloth piled up inside the wall. We took it out and behind it was an old McDonald's box ”.
Inside the bag, much to their surprise, they found two burger wraps and some half-eaten fries, decades old, which however were still crunchy and brown .
Searching the Internet they found that the logo on the bag was the one used by the fast food chain from 1955 to 1961, the bag had an image of the original mascot, "Speedee" printed on it.
Investigating further, the couple discovered that one of the area's original McDonald's was built down the street in 1959, the same year their home was built.
What will they do with the chips? " Maybe we will sell them, or we will keep them as a historical symbol ."
