The US and Iran are at loggerheads after their respective peace plans were rejected. Trump is currently meeting with his national security team and senior US military officials to discuss future strategies, including the possibility of resuming military action, CNN reports.
"President Trump has been clear about his objectives from the beginning," Secretary of State Rubio's spokesman, Thomas Pigott, told Corriere della Sera. "The regime cannot have a nuclear weapon. Decimating their military, air, naval, and missile forces is an objective on which we have seen decisive results, and the world is already safer thanks to Epic Fury . But the president has been clear: he wants to achieve his objective . And the broader context of the diplomatic effort is also important: there was diplomacy at the beginning of this administration, then Operation Midnight Hammer, then the door of diplomacy reopened, then Epic Fury, and diplomacy again. But have no doubt that the president will ensure his objective is achieved: the Iranian regime cannot have a nuclear weapon."
Meanwhile, the EU has approved sanctions against violent Israeli settlers , sparking anger in Tel Aviv, which calls them an "unacceptable outrage."
