The images of the young woman screaming in terror, "Don't kill me," with her arms outstretched toward her boyfriend, Avinatan Or, as he was dragged away by other militants, have remained etched in our minds as one of the iconic videos of that horrific day. Noa was freed eight months later during an Israeli special forces raid on the home of journalist Abdullah al-Jamal in Nuseirat, which also cost the life of the operation's leader, Arnon Zmora. The Israeli-Japanese woman's boyfriend remained captive in Gaza for another 738 days and was released by Hamas on October 13, 2025, in exchange for the release of several Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails. Noa went to hug Or as soon as the army took him out of the Strip and accompanied him on his helicopter flight home.

At his son's crowded funeral, he gave a long speech, posted on social media by all Gazan media, in which he declared that the only way forward is jihad, the holy war against the infidels. Three days ago, the circle closed in Deir al-Balah for Jabr Moqbel, a terrorist from Hamas's military wing who ran the "Moqbel" currency exchange network, transferring millions of shekels in foreign currency to the organization.
The victims of numerous targeted killings in recent months have been militants who took part in the October 7th raid, who held hostages, battalion commanders, and cell leaders. The entire world can see the results of the Israeli attacks in videos posted on social media by dozens of men and boys who film the bodies with their cell phones.
