Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir visited the prison where the Global Sumud Flotilla activists arrested by the Israeli government are being held overnight between Thursday and Friday .

The far-right politician put on a show in front of activists crouching on the ground, insulting them by calling them "terrorists ." An "indecent" show, thundered Angelo Bonelli of AVS, while Laura Boldrini recalled that the current minister himself had previously been convicted of terrorism in Israel .

After the insults, threats arrived in the morning: "I think they should be held here for a few months in an Israeli prison, so they can get used to the smell of the terrorist wing," he said of the activists awaiting deportation. Ben Gvir called Netanyahu's decision a "mistake," because deportation alone "will push them to return, again and again."

Ben Gvir, a settler in the occupied West Bank, has been involved in numerous violent incidents and has previously been convicted of supporting a terrorist organization and inciting racism against Arabs. He has gained support among settlers and extremists, winning 14 Knesset seats with his Otzma Yehudit party. This success has brought him directly into Netanyahu's governing coalition and control of Israel's security apparatus.
