"Civilians cannot be targets. Ever. The images from Gaza are unbearable. The EU reiterates its call for the free, safe, and rapid flow of humanitarian aid. And for full respect for international humanitarian law. Civilians in Gaza have suffered too much, for too long. It must end now. Israel must keep its promises." European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote this in X.

Following the latest IDF raids in the Strip, which resulted in numerous civilian casualties, especially near humanitarian aid and food distribution sites , EU High Representative Kaja Kallas also took a firm stance, stating that "the killing of civilians seeking aid in Gaza is indefensible. I spoke again with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar to reiterate our agreement on the flow of aid and made it clear that the IDF must stop killing people at distribution points."

Kallas also warned that “all options remain on the table if Israel does not keep its promises.”
