CIA Director John Ratcliffe traveled to Moscow yesterday for "intelligence-level" talks, without meeting President Vladimir Putin, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today.
"There were contacts between the secret services, but no meeting with the Russian president took place," Peskov told reporters, calling the contacts "positive" but refusing to comment on the topics discussed.
The CIA director arrived aboard a U.S. military Boeing C-17A Globemaster III transport plane. This would be Ratcliffe's first known trip to Russia since he took over as head of U.S. intelligence.
