"Iran is not a normal country. They are led by madmen, and if they had the opportunity to use a nuclear weapon, they would do so without hesitation . But they will never have that opportunity, and just as we knocked them out again today, we will knock them out much harder and much more violently in the future if they don't sign the agreement now." This is what US President Donald Trump wrote in Truth, after announcing that three US destroyers had passed through the Strait of Hormuz "under enemy fire." The naval blockade, he assured, "is a wall of steel."
The tycoon's words come at a time when Iran's central military command accused the United States of violating the ceasefire with attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, saying the attacks on US forces were in retaliation.
The United States "targeted an Iranian oil tanker moving from Iranian coastal waters in the Jask region toward the Strait of Hormuz, as well as another vessel entering the Strait of Hormuz opposite the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates," the army's central command said in a statement cited by state television.
But for now, the truce remains in effect.
