There is also Holland among the countries in which there is a new peak of Covid cases.
There are 16,364 new infections registered in the last 24 hours. The health authorities make it known. The previous record was 12,997 infections in December 2020.
And the government goes back to talking about lockdowns. According to local media reports, the National Scientific Committee has recommended "lockdown-type measures for a period of two weeks" to the executive. Prime Minister Mark Rutte will decide in the next few hours, perhaps the announcement will be made already in the afternoon.
The recommendations of the experts would not concern the closure of schools but could lead to the cancellation of events and the closure of cinemas and theaters as well as changes in the opening hours for bars and restaurants.
