A 21-year-old Austrian is the attacker of the massacre at the Borg Institute in Gratz, Austria, where at least nine people died and 12 were injured this morning. Former student Artur A., "fired 40 shots" in two classrooms and was later found lifeless in one of the school's bathrooms.

The Austrian police confirmed this in a press conference with the can celler Christian Stocker, Interior Minister Gerhard Karner and Styrian Governor Kunasek and the mayor of the city Elke Kahr. The attacker was in possession of two weapons, a pistol and a hunting rifle and acted alone. Probably - it was explained - for reasons of "bullying".

After the alarm, the building was closed, inviting the population to stay away from the area. The sad toll of the shooting, in addition to the victims, also includes several injured, some of whom are now in serious conditions.
