A ship was hit by a shell in the Strait of Hormuz . The explosion caused damage to the engine room and injured one crew member.

The vessel was hit while maneuvering to exit the strait , as reported by the UK Centre for Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) on its website, also reported by Al Jazeera.

The crew members are receiving assistance from the Omani Coast Guard and, at this time, no environmental impacts are reported .

Meanwhile, Tehran announced: "Hormuz will remain closed until the US respects the agreements."
